The Wallsend Festival Association is a voluntary organisation which exists to celebrate all that's good in Wallsend: past, present and future. Its main activity is to plan and organise the annual Wallsend Festival which takes place in the town in July of each year. Planning and delivering the Festival is a big job and it is only possible because of the work that our members put in - and we could always do with more hands! If you agree with us that Wallsend is a great place to live and work with much to be proud of and to celebrate, why not consider joining the Association? The Festival Association was formed following the success of the first Festival held in July 2001 and membership is open to all who share the organisations aims. |
There is presently no charge for membership and you can join either as an individual or an organisation. We meet regularly throughout the year and we have a management committee who meet monthly to work on the details of the Festival. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and organisations, representing residents, the local schools, local businesses, Segedunum, Wallsend Rotary Club and the People's Centre among others. |
There will be lots more happening in the week leading up to the Saturday, with students from all the local schools taking part in a whole host of exciting activities. The Wallsend Choral Society will stage a Festival Concert and we hope for much more. But it's up to you! The Festival provides a great showcase for local groups and organisations to raise their profile, showcase their activities and attract new members. So why not join us and take part in the Festival: Perhaps you have a group who would like to take a stall? Its YOUR Festival - so get involved and help make this year's Festival the best ever! |
